Following the debut of the 718 Boxster, Porsche has unveiled the 718 Cayman, now entering its third generation. The mid-engine sports coupe receives a more aggressive exterior design, new chassis tuning, redesigned interior, and lower starting price than the roadster.
Like the 718 Boxster, the Porsche 718 Cayman S will be powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-four that produces 350 hp and 309 lb-ft of torque, while the base Cayman will be powered by the 2.0-liter flat-four, offering up 300 hp and 280 lb-ft. Both engines are equipped with an integrated wastegate for optimized boost pressure for all driving situations.
Expect the Porsche 718 Cayman to hit 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds when equipped with PDK and the optional Sport Chrono Package, with the Cayman S doing the same in 4.0 seconds. Top track speeds for the 718 Cayman and Cayman S are 170 and 177 mph, respectively. |
