You know it's a tough crowd when a Ferrari modified for former Fiat boss Gianni Agnelli goes home with nothing but a "better luck next time." The 87-year-old Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este is that kind of event -- nothing but the best of the best gets a foot in the door.

The annual gathering took place this past weekend beside Italy's picturesque Lake Como at exclusive Hotel Villa d'Este. The winners always wow, but even those that don't win grab your attention. These are the ten cars we think turned the most heads during VdE 2016.

Next Dodge Charger Could Lose 500 Pounds, Offer Turbo 4-Cylinder

The next-generation Dodge Charger could lose nearly 500 pounds and be available with a 300-hp twin-turbo I-4, according to a new report from Automotive News. FCA will move the Charger from its current Mercedes-Benz-based platform to an extended version of the Giorgio platform that made its debut beneath the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia, meaning the next-generation model will be slightly shorter in length.

One Week With: 2016 BMW i3 REx

If you happen to follow my monthly column in this magazine, "The Asphalt Jungle," you know that whenever I hear the name "i8" I wax rhapsodic over BMW's stunning hybrid exotic. Yet, somehow, I've never managed to test-drive the i8's far humbler sibling, the i3 electric city car. Frankly, that's partly because I figured that in comparison to the swoopy, spaceship-like i8 the boxy, upright i3 would feel about as interesting and engaging as an airport baggage tractor.

Then I drove an i3 with range extender (which BMW calls "REx") for a week. And my preconceptions got pulverized.
