Meet The Tesla Model 3: Elon Musk's EV For The Masses
The Tesla Model 3 is a car eager prospective owners have been plunking down $1,000 deposits for sight unseen, and lining up for the opportunity to do so. It's a car that could forever change the way the masses think of electric vehicles. It's a car Tesla is betting its future fortunes on.

To say that the Model 3, which was just unveiled to the world Thursday by Tesla CEO Elon Musk at Musk's SpaceX facility in Hawthorne, California, has been the most anticipated car of 2016 isn't hyperbole. And that's just the way Musk wants it. In many ways, Tesla has become the Apple of the auto industry and Musk its Steve Jobs. It's a company -- an American one -- that has built hype and buzz for its cars that few others in the car business have ever been able to achieve.

That's the new 2017 Audi A4, and right about now BMW should be looking at its starchy 3 Series wondering, "Why couldn't we think of that?"

2016 New York Auto Show Show Hits, Misses and Revelations

This year's auto show proved to be less exuberant than last year's, with perhaps one standout each in the Hits and the Misses category. Beside the global and U.S. premieres discussed below, the 2016 New York International Auto Show is notable for Mercedes-Benz's introduction of its GLC-Class coupe, though none of our editors or contributors had anything positive, or negative, to say about it. We must be getting tired of four-door crossover coupes. So without further ado, here's what did grab our attention in Manhattan.
