Bentley CEO Durheimer Strongly Hints Bentayga Speed Is On The Way

Given the breadth of powertrain options offered on Bentley's other models, from V-8 versions of the Continental GT to all-out Speed versions of that model as well as the executive Mulsanne sedan, the rumor mill churned early on the prospect of a full-on Bentley Bentayga Speed. We'd heard ourselves that there was certainly room in the lineup, but now CEO Wolfgang Durheimer has told Auto Express that one "might expect" the Bentayga to get the Speed treatment.

This is about as close as it comes to an outright confirmation, so at this point the Bentley Bentayga Speed is a foregone conclusion. The standard Bentayga employs a 6.0-liter, twin-turbo 600-hp W-12 engine that makes a very healthy 664 lb-ft of torque, but that output could swell by at least 30 or 40 hp with an upgraded version of the current 12-cylinder. As it is, the Bentayga hits 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds on its way to a 187 mph top speed, but that ceiling could potentially rise awfully close to 200 mph in Speed guise.

2017 Ford Escape Review:
Function Meets Functionality

Demand for small SUVs has increased almost tenfold in the last few years, and by the next decade these small SUVs will make up around 40 percent of the automotive marketplace.

This is due largely to baby boomers who no longer need gargantuan SUVs for their children, and millennials who are beginning their own families but also live an active and vibrant life, at least according to market researchers.

Enter the new and more functional 2017 Ford Escape, which isn't revolutionary but is definitely better than its predecessor. It has received a face-lift, tummy tuck, and butt lift in the name of continuing Ford's dominance in the crossover market.

Besides the revised exterior, which carries Ford's new global design language, the Escape also receives two new turbocharged engines: a 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and a 2.0-liter twin-scroll EcoBoost four-cylinder.

Porsche 718 Cayman Unveiled in Beijing With Lower Price Than Boxster

Following the debut of the 718 Boxster, Porsche has unveiled the 718 Cayman, now entering its third generation. The mid-engine sports coupe receives a more aggressive exterior design, new chassis tuning, redesigned interior, and lower starting price than the roadster.

Like the 718 Boxster, the Porsche 718 Cayman S will be powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-four that produces 350 hp and 309 lb-ft of torque, while the base Cayman will be powered by the 2.0-liter flat-four, offering up 300 hp and 280 lb-ft. Both engines are equipped with an integrated wastegate for optimized boost pressure for all driving situations.

Expect the Porsche 718 Cayman to hit 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds when equipped with PDK and the optional Sport Chrono Package, with the Cayman S doing the same in 4.0 seconds. Top track speeds for the 718 Cayman and Cayman S are 170 and 177 mph, respectively.
